Peltier 9th Annual Teacher's Scholarship

Each year, Robert Peltier awards twenty-five (25) individuals with the Peltier Teacher's Scholarship Program to outstanding students across East Texas. The scholarship is available to any East Texas student that is graduating high school or currently enrolled in college as an undergraduate. Additionally, the student must have a parent that is an educator (teachers, administrators or paraprofessional). These twenty-five (25) scholarships will be given out annually to help families offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, room and board. Our community is so important to us, this scholarship is our way of saying "thank you" to all the hard work our teachers put into educating our children of the future. To those of you applying, good luck! 


  1. The Student indicated on the application must be the child of a Faculty Member (Teacher, Administrator or Paraprofessional) employed in a public, private, charter, or magnet school for the 2018-2019 School Year.
  2. The student must be a graduating senior of a 2019 high school class or currently enrolled at a College or University for the Fall of 2019. Concurrent high school students are ineligible.
  3. Dependents and immediate family members of Peltier employees are ineligible.

The Teacher's Scholarship Program will be open from 12:00 A.M. January 21, 2019 through 11:59 P.M., March 31, 2019. Incomplete applications, or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

How to Enter:
Scholarship participants may log on to, between January 21, 2019 and March 31, 2019 to enter the program. Parent of student must "Like" on any one of our three (3) Facebook Pages. "Likes" will be verified in order for Student's application to be considered COMPLETE. Fill out the application completely and then submit. Prize & Award:
Twenty-five (25) scholarships in the amount of one-thousand ($1000.00) dollars will be sent to the College or University of the student's choosing to help offset the cost of tuition, fees, books, room & board. In addition to the $1000.00, both the Faculty member, spouse and their student are invited to a banquet to be held in their honor at the Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler, Texas. Payment of Scholarships will be contingent upon receipt of verification that applicant has met all eligibility requirements. All Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, or national origin.

Judging Criteria:
 An objective third party panel will judge each application. This panel is comprised of individuals with teaching backgrounds. Strength of essay, and student creativity, as well as extenuating circumstances will be considered.

Notification of Winners:
All Scholars and Faculty will be notified via the Sponsor's Facebook Pages and by a visit to their respective schools on or around May 6, 2019. A list of all winners will be posted on the Sponsor's Facebook pages.

Publicity; Use of Name and Likeness:
Except where prohibited by law, entry in the Contest constitutes each applicant's (and their parent or guardian) consent to the Sponsor's use of his or her name, city and state of residence, entry, likeness, photograph, and image for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes in any media, online or offline, without further permission, consent, payment or other consideration.

Agreement to Official Rules:
Participation in the Contest constitutes applicant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules. Applicants agree that Sponsor, its affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, agents or contractors and their employees, officers and directors shall not be liable for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participating in this Contest.
